MANILA – A few months after her controversial split with “It’s Showtime” host Billy Crawford, singer Nikki Gil made her first cover appearance on Cosmopolitan Philippines.
The women’s magazine, known for tackling topics such as sex, health, beauty and relationships, unveiled its December 2013 cover on Thursday night.
On the cover, Gil is seen wearing a dark green crop top with a plunging neckline and a matching skirt.
The singer said in an Instagram post that it has always been her dream to be a “Cosmo girl.”
A number of readers believe Gil has opened up about her breakup with Crawford in her interview with Cosmopolitan Philippines, especially after the magazine said she “tells all” in its December 2013 issue.
The singer was also quoted as saying, “There were rumors, but I ignored them!”
Before her Cosmopolitan Philippines stint, Gil was first seen “
going sexy” in the ad campaign of the local clothing brand Maldita.
Gil and Crawford were seen
side by side on the October-November 2013 cover of the local lifestyle magazine People Asia, which was unveiled online recently.
Also on the cover are singer Kuh Ledesma, TV host Iya Villania, actress Carla Abellana, actor John Prats and actor-politican ER Ejercito.
In an interview in early November where she first addressed the breakup at length, Gil said she would prefer not to be friends with Crawford at this time. She acknowledged, however, that they are likely to cross paths frequently as they are both mainstays on ABS-CBN programs.
Crawford confirmed his breakup with Gil in a television interview last July.
